HINTS | 2008 | TIPS
Learn how to observe - Whilst watching a movement, focus attention to at least five areas of the body; eyes, hands, shoulders, waist and legs. It is a combination of these elements that help generate powerful motion!
Ask yourself questions - Every time a new technique is delivered, ask yourself how did I get here? Am I comfortable? Only ask your coach a question at designated times, don’t interrupt training with chat. When you gain confidence in your application, ask your body to revise on its own. This is similar to a ‘Taichi’ concept.
Techniques are limitless - Within all Martial Art styles there are individuals that have trained enough to know they could easily submerge themselves for years with the techniques they know. Concentrate on a few, then four to eight should be your maximum to start with. Applications become natural in many circumstances once the foundation is complete.
