You can learn at The Yum Yeurng Academy by deciding which path suits you best. As an individual, team player or apprentice all your training is tailored for maximium progression in the shortest time. Training at home is a luxury, and is only for the serious practitioner. With a team, your strength & skill increase ‘eight-fold’.

The Yum Yeurng Academy modules have been tested on previous students during the past five years. Barry and Spencer have their own interpretations and coaching styles of their curriculum, and have decided to separate for the first time to coach new students privately. Foundation Sets

Individual tuition is designed for the student who is looking for one-to-one guidance. We coach you in your own home, or suitable location and prepare an Individual Training Plan to assist you in self-practice when we’re not there.

Team tuition is for a minimum group of two-six people. The dynamic of training with others is used to prepare for demonstrations and events that we may decide to showcase The Academy. To be completed at our new Studio, pre-booking and payment is required.

Apprenticeships are for the serious student who has completed our assessment. You will be expected to start a local club of your own, supervised by an elder. Once a satisfactory probation is completed, we will continue with your personal tuition and develop your skill as far as you can take it.

Why the change? The Academies basic curriculum has not changed. We still use the same content, but the English titles for the modules have been updated to reflect a more accurate picture. Our old Self Defence course is now the Foundation module.

What is the cost? We can coach you in our Studio, and charge from £25p/h depending on your circumstances. Team training is also offered and pre-payment of an 8 week period, 2hrs per week is £88 per person. Apprenticeships are also available.

Do I need previous experience? We like pre-practitioners of Martial Arts, but this is not essential. We have an introductory period which helps us assess your level, and prepare your individual training plan. Self motivation is essential for Individual Tuition as you are expected to train in your own time.
